Mapping Baseball

TAGS: None

Baseball season is right around the corner. A while back, I compiled data about baseball parks into convenient XML. I smushed it together with GoogleMaps, so you can see where all the ballparks are at one swift glance: Major League Baseball Ballparks.
Google Maps Mania blog has tons of other google maps implementations for locations of stadiums. Nearly God Baseball offers a listing of all ballparks around the world in their World Ballpark Tour. Fantasy-baseball.com has a good map of all North American parks here, including minor league parks, as well.
Next step: a quick app that combines team schedules and GoogleMaps’ direction-giving ability for scheduling road trips to see as many games in as many stadiums in as little time as possible.
Go Yankees!

    Hey, so… when’s the trip?
By the way, my stitch and bitch group is doing a stitch and pitch get together out at Coney Island… We’re going to see the Cyclones play the Vermont Lake Monsters!
